Girls Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of its 2nd Annual Lecture Series “What Is a Girl?” in collaboration with the Junior League of Dallas. Join us as Nancy "Lady Magic" Lieberman and an all-star lineup of speakers and panelists, including North Texas Olympians explore the impact of the revolutionary Title IX law, the value of women in the world of athletics and how increased participation in sports has helped women compete and achieve success in business and other nontraditional fields.

Lecture 1: March 26, 2013 - “Title IX: The Ultimate Game-Changer”

Presented by Jody Conradt, retired coach and athletic director at the University of Texas whose commemorative statue stands in the University of Texas basketball arena. Event details

Lecture 2: April 10, 2013 - Signature lecture: “Becoming the Best of the Best: How Girls Rise Above the Competition”

Presented by Nancy Lieberman and featuring North Texas Olympians, including Michelle Carter, Olympic shot-put athlete. Nancy "Lady Magic" Lieberman is a two-time Olympian, Basketball Hall of Famer, broadcaster, motivational speaker, author and the first female coach of a men's team under the NBA umbrella. Lecture 3: April 30, 2013 - “Igniting Female Teams to High Performance” 

Presented by Katie Filkins, Ph.D., strategic thinker, executive coach, business consultant and former collegiate and professional basketball player. Event details
